San Francisco: In today’s digital world, users are required to enter their account password to access the services of most sites, starting with Gmail. Some users may have forgotten the password they gave. Some people use passwords that are easy to remember. For example ‘pass@123, abcd1234’. However, its security is a question mark. Cybercriminals will randomly log in using this simple password and reveal their fingerprints. Google’s Passkeys helps put an end to both.
This means that Passkeys provides an end to the password-related problems faced by the users and ensures security. Google helps users build a password-free web world. However, there are some conditions.
What it means is that Baskeys enables users to access their account in a simple way like biometrics like user’s fingerprint, face recognition or screen lock. Baskeys works almost like how users are using their smartphone now.
The Basques?
It has been introduced as an alternative to the regular password usage method and to make it easier for users to remember. ‘Pasquiz is easy to use and safe. So in the coming days, users will not need to use their pet’s name, birthday or password123’, said Google.
For now, it’s only available for Google Accounts. Also, Google has said that it is working with leading companies like Apple and Microsoft regarding Basques.
Users must manually grant permission to use Passkeys. For this users have to click on their profile picture in their Google account. You can use it by selecting ‘Manage your Google Account > Security > Passwords’. Doing so will prompt Google to enter the user’s password. With that users can activate the Basques feature. It is reported that users can avail this service on Android and Apple iOS platforms.
We’ve started rolling out support for passkeys that let users sign in to our products with a fingerprint, a face scan or a screen lock PIN. Starting today, this will be available as an option for Google Account users. https://t.co/wBSIqAfiCe
