Chennai: In order to ensure the safety and security of telecom users, a new website called ‘Sanchar Sathi’ has been launched by the Central Department of Telecommunications.
Union Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav launched the website through video from Delhi.
Consultant Anand Kumar participated in the video presentation at the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Telecom Department Consultancy Office, Ethiraj Road, Chennai.
This website has been launched so that people can know about the efforts made by the central government to strengthen the security of cell phone customers. This website helps you find lost cell phones and identify fake cell phones.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said: In some states, 40.87 lakh fake connections have been detected and 36.61 lakh connections have been disconnected by using the Sanchar Sathi website as a test. Users should take advantage of this website service which has been created with people in mind.
In the central government’s draft telecommunication bill, the security of the users has been given importance. This web service helps prevent cell phone fraud and detect misuse of cell phones.
Based on the technology called CEIR, this service can be used to trace lost or stolen cell phones. If the information provided on this website is correct, it is possible to track and recover them within the next 24 hours. Thus he spoke.
